The Kakad Brothers’ Charitable Trust was launched at the Kakad Brothers’ Golf Day 2014.

 

Enfield Golf Club played host to the golfing activities in the morning, which was followed by the charity launch event in the evening at Raw Spice, Hendon.

 

The money raised will be used to support several worthwhile projects such as:

 

1. Sponsoring youngsters, primarily in India through university – providing them an opportunity to build a successful career as a professional and giving them tools to advance both themselves and their families.

2. Helping the elderly here in North London on our door step is another project the charity would like to contribute to both physically and financially supporting social events.

3. Providing financial support towards two inspiring organisations based in Gujarat, India.

One is a refuge for young girls who have been abandoned by their parents. During our visit we met many of the girls, and heard their stories. One young girl had been attacked by a dog and was found on the side of the road and taken to the refuge, where they were able to provide her a safe place to live and food to eat.

 

The second is a residential centre for the blind girls, where they teach them everyday skills such as cooking, cleaning, ironing and sewing. The ultimate aim of this centre is to provide these young ladies skills which will allow them to integrate fully back into the community.
